Hiding and redisplaying groups of nodes

You can hide and redisplay groups of nodes in the Scene Graph, and their corresponding columns in the XSheet.

This feature is most useful if you have a complex scene, with many nodes in the Scene Graph, and many columns in the XSheet. By hiding groups of nodes, you can ensure that you only have displayed those elements of the scene on which you are working.

Hiding groups of nodes

To hide a group, double click on a node. The node changes appearance to show that it is, in fact, a group of nodes; it has a double outline, and loses its input channel:

All nodes whose outputs are connected to the node become hidden, except:

You can thus always see all inputs to any nodes that aren't hidden.
You can thus always see the outputs from any nodes that aren't hidden

For example:

Redisplaying groups of nodes

To redisplay the nodes, double click again. If auto layout is off, the nodes will have their original layout; if auto layout is on, they will be laid out for you.
